Perennial City - Exhibit at the Hull-House Museum
Opening March 19, 2026 Perennial City connects early urban gardening experiments at Hull-House to today’s movements for environmental justice, food access, and land stewardship.
Featuring selected artwork from my Fertile Futures and Critical Connections bodies of work along with artist Carlos Flores, this exhibit draws on rarely seen archival materials. The exhibition reveals how Hull-House helped immigrant and working-class communities at the turn of the twentieth century reclaim unused and industrial land to grow food, sustain cultural traditions, and build healthier urban lives. Hull-House reformers recognized gardening as more than recreation: it was a way to restore agency, resist the pressures of industrialization, & imagine a more humane city.
Prisons Must Fall Children’s Book
Available now! Friends, I am so incredibly excited to finally get to share this book. “Prisons Must Fall” written by Mariame Kaba and Jane Ball, published by Haymarket Books is the first children’s book I have illustrated. I am overjoyed and so grateful to have been invited to illustrate this loving, inquisitive story from Mariame and Jane. This project has been years in the works and the largest project I have yet worked on.
